Weather Puts Kinks in Plans for Light Parade in Manassas Park

The annual Festival of Lights Parade has been canceled due to weather, Manassas Park City officials said on Saturday.

The parade was supposed to take place Saturday, Dec. 14 just after dusk.  Each year it begins at General Ridge's Golf Course, proceeds down Manassas Drive and ends at the Manassas Park Police Department on the other end of the city.

Police Chief John Evans and City Manager Dean Crowhurst made the decision late Friday evening to call off the parade after receiving reports of inclement weather.
