Patricia Stach, of Centreville, passed away on Mother's Day, leaving behind a husband and three children.
This obituary was submitted by Patricia's husband, David Stach. Patricia Anne (Noto) Stach, child of God and dear friend of our Savior, Jesus Christ, departed this life on Mother’s Day, May 12, 2013. A devoted and loving mother and wife, she left behind daughter, Liesl Anna Stach; sons, Dieter Erich Stach and Paetr Johann Stach; and husband, David Alan Stach. Patricia (Patty) was born on April 19, 1954 in Farmingdale, NY of loving parents Anthony Noto (d.2012) and Anna (Marsh) Noto. She was a wonderful sister to Anthony J. Noto and his wife Claire; Florene (Noto) Dittrich and her husband Doug; Kathy Anne Noto (d.1960); Jeffrey B. Lacy was the first female firefighter at the Centreville Volunteer Fire Department.
Alice Beeler Richeson Lacy, the first female firefighter to join the Centreville Volunteer Fire Department, died in April at her home. Lacy, who was a life member of the department, was born in Strasburg, Va., on March 31, 1935, according to her obituary in the Northern Virginia Daily. She was among the first women to serve at any station in Fairfax County, back when the idea was still controversial. "It was a very male-dominated operation," said Bill Schmidt, a friend of Lacy's who was captain of rescue at the time she joined. "It was about the time that career services were beginning to think about this and is this going to work, can they do it? Alice said no problem." Things were much different at the time, Schmidt said. Rebecca Donlon died unexpectedly Monday.
Liberty Middle School is mourning the loss of eighth-grade civics teacher Rebecca Donlon, who died unexpectedly Monday. Donlon, an award-winning teacher, had also worked with Centreville High School students as a cheer coach and teacher cadet sponsor. "Mrs. Donlon was a wonderful and talented teacher who had the ability to make positive connections with each child in her class. She was loved and admired by her colleagues, parents and especially her students," Principal Catherine Cipperly wrote in a message to parents.
