Fatal Crash Monday Night in Centreville Kills One
Charles V. McCormick, 72, of Centreville, died in the crash.
A Centreville man, Charles V. McCormick, 72, died Monday night after he was involved in a car crash at Centreville and Compton roads in Centreville, according to a news release from Fairfax County police. Police were called to the scene shortly after 7 p.m. Monday. A preliminary investigation showed that a 1999 Mercedes SL500, which was being driven by a 70-year-old Leesburg man, was traveling north on Centreville Road approaching Compton Road. A 1984 Oldsmobile two-door, driven by McCormick, of the 5700 block of Ottawa Road in Centreville, was traveling southbound on Centreville Road approaching the intersection of Compton Road.
