Walmart Strike Supporters Protest Outside Stores in Kingstowne, Huntington
Some local employees are supporters of the movement.
UPDATE Oct. 10, 10:57 a.m.: Supporters of the Walmart strike protested outside Wednesday morning at two Northern Virginia Walmart stores, carrying signs in Huntington and Kingstowne, union officials confirmed. Community leaders in the Northern Virginia area are participating in the Walmart retail workers' strike by holding protests or community actions at various Virginia stores. Walmarts closest to Northern Virginia that have had workers walk off the job are located in Laurel and Capital Plaza in Maryland. However, Virginia Walmart employees are getting involved in the recent movement, a spokesman said Wednesday.
