For all the Washington Redskins fans out there who think they have the ultimate man cave, chances are you ain’t got nothing on Jimmy Duvall. When he and his wife, Tonya, decided five years ago to build an addition in the backyard of their Manassas Park home, he decided the new room over the garage would be his Redskins man cave. “I built it because we throw a lot of parties and I got tired of cleaning my house,” Duvall said. “It’s funny because I have a lot of friends who are (Dallas) Cowboys fans, but even they come up here and like it.” Redskins helmets, flags, plaques, jerseys, mugs, cups and scoreboards fill the walls and surround the windows. New Life Christian Church held the grand opening of the nZone, a former Budweiser facility converted to a church and sports facility.
New Life Christian Church isn't a conventional congregation. "No perfect people are allowed at New Life. Come regardless of your hurts, habits and hang-ups. We’re a place full of messed up people," the church's website proclaims. So perhaps it's fitting that the congregation's new house of worship isn't exactly conventional, either. The church recently moved from its former home at Westfield High School to a renovated Budweiser building in Chantilly. They've named it the "nZone," which doubles as a sports facility and gym during the week and a church on Sundays. The American Red Cross is hosting a blood drive on Wednesday, Dec. 21st, at Life Time Fitness, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Due to busy schedules, the holiday season is always a difficult time to obtain blood donations. As a "thank you," donors will receive a ticket to see the 'Skins at the Vikings game. Former players and cheerleaders will also be at Life Time to thank donors.
