Sully Police District sees decline from 81 vehicles stolen in 2010, most recent year statistics are available.
A preliminary police report shows that a grand total of 812 vehicles were reported stolen in 2012 in Fairfax County — 49 of which were reported in the Sully Police District. FCPD saw a decline in vehicle thefts compared to 2011 and 2010 when 881 and 963 vehicles were reported stolen countywide respectively. Sully Police District reported the lowest number of vehicle thefts among the county's police districts. Erdener Goren, 33, of Fairfax, was charged with sexual battery. The following information was provided by the Fairfax County Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. Vehicle pursuit: A vehicle pursuit took place on Centreville Road and Old Centreville Road, Aug. 16, at 2:40 p.m. An officer attempted to stop a motorcycle for a traffic violation when the cyclist sped away. The pursuit ended on the Hickory Grove Court when the motorcycle stopped. Burglary: On Aug. 14, at 10:25 a.m., a resident on the 14300 block of Watery Mountain Court advised that his Playstation game system was taken from his home. Entry possibly made through rear sliding glass door. Attempted burglary: A resident reported multiple screen windows were cut on a porch at a home on the 13600 block of Poplar Tree Road on Aug. 10, 6:51 p.m. The resident confirmed nothing was stolen. Burglary: On Aug. 13 at 10:44 a.m. An employee on the 6800 block of Chasewood Circle reported the pool was broken into sometime overnight. Several items were stolen. Police believe Benjamin Walker, 22, killed his roommate.
Fairfax County Police arrested a Centreville man on Sunday for murdering his roommate. Benjamin Walker, 22, of 5923 Gunther Street in Centreville, was charged with murder on Sunday. Police believe he killed his roommate, Ryah Leslie, 22. Walker came to the Fairfax County sheriff's pre-release center at 1:27 p.m. on Sunday and reported that a woman at his home was dead. After investigating the home, officers arrested Walker. This is the first homicide in Fairfax County this year. All of this violence? I've lived in Centreville for the past 32 years. It is a lot better than some other areas of northern Virginia, DC or Maryland. It is so much safer walking the streets here.
