Sully District Police Blotter The following information was taken from the weekly incident report published by the Fairfax County Police Department. Burglary: A resident reported at 10:45 a.m. Aug. 25 someone entered his home on the 4200 block of Galesbury Lane and stole a laptop computer. Police determined the suspect forced entry through a basement window. Burglary A resident reported at 7:30 a.m. Aug. 23 someone entered his home on the 12500 block of White Drive and stole a bag. Police determined the suspect entered the home through an unsecure garage door. Robbery: A 19-year-old victim reported a man surprised her and demanded cash while displaying a handgun around 11:20 p.m. on Aug. 7. She gave him her money and he fled. The incident occurred near the 13900 block of Braddock Road. Burglary: An employee at a business on the 13800 block of Braddock Road reported on Aug. 2 that someone entered during the overnight hours and stole cash. Assault: Officers were called to a fight at Havener House Way and Newton Patent Circle on May 21, at 11:30 a.m. Police said that Robert Clifton, 63, of Centreville, attacked the victim with a knife following a near crash while driving. Clifton was charged with assault, and the victim was not injured. Robbery: The victim reported that a man entered the business at 6000 block of Centreville Crest Lane at 9:40 p.m. on May 18, brandished a handgun and demanded money. The suspect fled with cash. A burglary took place on the 13700 block of Smallwood Court, March 19, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:25 p.m. The home owner reported that someone entered the home and stole several electronic items. Entry was possibly made through a rear unlocked door. No other details were available. After a large party at her home on Feb. 25, police charged Clifton homeowner Melanie Smith, 49.
The following information was provided by the Fairfax County Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. At 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, officers responded to a residence on the 1200 block of Yates Ford Road for a report of a large party at the home. Police charged homeowner Melanie Smith, 49, of Clifton with three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Another party guest, Mark Hughes, 55, of Fairfax Station was also charged with drunk in public, possession of alcohol and obstruction of justice. Larcenies

A homeowner on Clifton Grove Court found his front lawn, porch and vehicle damaged at 2:30 a.m.
Destruction of property: At 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19, a homeowner on the 6800 block of Clifton Grove Court was awakened by the doorbell. When he looked outside, he found damage to the front lawn, porch and vehicle. Officers found several other homes with damage as well. Larcenies

Assault: At 2:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7, an officer conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Lee Jackson Memorial Highway and Lees Corner Road and arrested the driver, Eileen A. Griffin, 50, of Clifton. Griffin allegedly became belligerent and fought the officer, police said. Police: scams target senior citizens An 86-year-old Springfield area woman was told last week she had won the lottery. But there was a catch; she needed to wire money to the “caller” in order to collect her winnings. She did as she was asked. A 91-year-old Fair Oaks area man was upset and concerned when he got a call from his “grandson” who said he’d been arrested and jailed in Peru a few weeks ago. Doing what any loving grandparent would, the man wired over $13,000 in an attempt to help. An 80-year-old woman wired $4,800 to Bolivia to her “granddaughter” who was there for a wedding and had gotten into a serious accident; then sent $5000 more for medical expenses. Indecent liberties: Mario Ramirez Ipina, 52, of 14439 Saguaro Place in Centreville, was arrested on Thursday, January 12 and charged with two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child. An investigation determined he exposed himself to two girls, seven and eight years old, and touched himself inappropriately.
