SPEAK OUT: Should the coach have taken Redskins' quarterback out of the game sooner?
The talk after the Washington Redskins tough loss Sunday in its playoff game with the Seattle Seahawks at FedEx Field: RGIII's injured knee. Star rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III played hurt and went down with an injured knee in the fourth quarter. On Twitter, the debate was fast and furious about when RGIII should have exited the game. Here's a roundup of what some were saying: What do you think? Do you think the coach should have pulled RGIII out of the game sooner?
The Houston Texans, Green Bay Packers, Baltimore Ravens and Seattle Seahawks are in.
The Washington Redskins fell to the Seattle Seahawks 24-14 Sunday in a disappointing loss for a team on the rise. Despite the loss, the team clearly has a solid foundation for the future. After dominating the first quarter and storming to a 14-0 lead, Robert Griffin III hurt and already injured and braced knee. He continued, a move criticized by some, but did not finish the game. Seattle nearly evened the score by halftime at 14-13. Neither team could muster a score in the third quarter, but the Seahawks pushed through with another 11 points in the fourth quarter, while shutting down the Redskins for the win. Earlier in the day, the Baltimore Ravens knocked No. 1 draft pick Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts out of the playoffs at …
Even the carpet has flecks of red and gold in Jimmy Duvall's Redskins man cave.
For all the Washington Redskins fans out there who think they have the ultimate man cave, chances are you ain’t got nothing on Jimmy Duvall. When he and his wife, Tonya, decided five years ago to build an addition in the backyard of their Manassas Park home, he decided the new room over the garage would be his Redskins man cave. “I built it because we throw a lot of parties and I got tired of cleaning my house,” Duvall said. “It’s funny because I have a lot of friends who are (Dallas) Cowboys fans, but even they come up here and like it.” Redskins helmets, flags, plaques, jerseys, mugs, cups and scoreboards fill the walls and surround the windows. Even the carpet has flecks of maroon and gold. About 80 percent of the memorabilia Duvall …

The Washington Redskins have selected Centreville High School football coach Chris Haddock as High School Coach of the Year.
Just two years ago, the football program at Centreville High School was floundering. Yet this December, second-year head coach Chris Haddock brought his Wildcats to a state championship game, following a 9-3 first season in 2010. So while the DC area has many top-notch football coaches, it shouldn't come as much surprise that the Washington Redskins have named Haddock the 2011 High School Coach of the Year. Haddock was chosen based on "his continuing commitment towards promoting youth football, developing motivated student-athletes, his overall community involvement and overall team performance and record," according to a news release posted on the Redskins website. The Redskins selected Haddock as the winner of the award this week and …

Running back says his experience at Westfield helped prepare him for the NFL.
Westfield High School 2006 graduate Evan Royster and his Washington Redskin teammates flew Seattle this weekend in preparation for Sunday's game against the Seahawks. The former Bulldog finished his first week of practice as an official Washington Redskin Friday afternoon after he was activated to the roster. He said his nine weeks on the practice squad helped him prepare for his now active role with the Redskins and he is ready to contribute when his number is called. “It’s been good. Every week I’ve been preparing like I’m going to play,” said Royster in an interview with Patch after Friday’s practice. “It's just a matter of getting in there and practicing, going through the motions and getting it done.” Washington drafted Royster in the…

You know I find it hard to believe that with all his money and bravado, Dan Snyder couldn't have proper field conditions...at any rate, the Redskins should be able to play in ANY conditions. If they had moved on to play San Francisco, in San Francisco, they would have had to play in even worse field conditions and/or weather problems. Seattle adjusted to it and they play in a dome! No excuses...…   more ›
