Zombies We Love, Roads We Hate and Everyone Likes 'The Producers'

1. Low-Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic — Sully Animal Hospital will offer a low-price spay and neuter clinic July 24. The cost for a dog spay or neuter is $120; a cat spay is $75 or neuter for $55. Blood work is an additional $35 dollars. Call 703-956-6290 to make an appointment. 

2. Road Project Review in Public Hearing — Thumbs up for the current road project list in Fairfax County? Do you have other ideas for keeping cars moving on our roads? The Northern Virginia Transportation Authority is looking for the public’s input on upcoming transportation projects proposed for 2014. The public hearing will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the council chambers in the city of Fairfax, 10455 Armstrong Street.

3. "The Producers" at Westfield — Mel Brooks' popular musical "The Producers" opens this week as Westfield High School's annual Summer Stage production. 
Performances July 26 and 27 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance, or $15 at the door. Tickets are available online at the Westfield Theatre Boosters website

4. Zombies, Love and Pizza — Fans of author Isaac Marion, best-selling author of zombie love story "Warm Bodies," can visit with the author during a teen event at 7:30-9 p.m. Wednesday at Chantilly Regional Library. There's also a pizza party and zombie make-up workshop beginning a 5:30 p.m.

5. Dig Those Dinosaurs — Centreville Regional Library is hosting a trip to the distant past at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. Gary Lloyd hosts some dino trivia, funny poems, songs and stories. For ages 6-12.
