Former FCPS Teacher Pleads Guilty to Soliciting Child Online

A former band director has pleaded guilty in Fairfax County Circuit Court to soliciting a child online.
, 43, of Centreville, entered an Alford plea on Tuesday to proposing sex to a child under age 15 by computer, according to court records. The Alford plea means that Cook maintains his innocence, but admits there is enough evidence to convict him.
Fairfax County Police made the arrest following an online conversation in which Cook chatted online . Prosecutors contended that Cook, while under the belief that he was chatting with a minor, attempted to solicit sex from the detective.
