Watch: Man Goes Tubing Down Lee Highway During Flash Flood
Lee Highway was virtually impenetrable for Centreville commuters heading home, but for one man, the floods were his key to a joyride.
Update: We've added another video to this article. The second video is of several local men playing with an inner tube in an area they identified as Chantilly.
Lee Highway might have been impenetrable for commuters heading home to Centreville on Thursday afternoon, but one man decided to make the most of the situation—by riding an inner tube down Lee Highway in Fairfax.
In the video, amazed bystanders call out, "What are you doing?" and "Hey! Get out of the road!" as the man floats by on his tube.
The person who posted the video on YouTube aptly summed up the scene: "Flash flood in Fairfax VA, fat man takes advantage."

Was that the cops/law enforcement telling him to get out of the road? Hee, hee!

Yeah, pretty funny Claudia that a cop might be telling him to get out of the road, considering 4 people drowned because of the flooding.

I didn't mean to sound insensitive. I didn't realize the loss to the community. I'm sorry. What I meant was how audacious that this man disregarded police commands to get out of the road. My chuckle was at the fact that when he does get out he might be in trouble, though he may not realize it.

Thank you Claudia. This storm and the subsequent destruction from the flooding was extremely trying on all first responders. The individual in the video is just one of many examples of irresponsible citizen's who obviously do not understand how dangerous flooding can be. I appreciate your response to my initial comments.
