Centreville Man Charged in Eddy Court Deck Fire

Two separate outside fires ignited after the suspect threw a gasoline can from a nearby deck, Fairfax County fire investigators said.

A Centreville man faces misdemeanor charges after two separate fires started on his street, fire investigators with the Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department said. 

Jonathan David Riordan, 41, of Eddy Court is charged with carelessly damaging property by fire and unauthorized release of a hazardous material. 

The fires ignited after a gas can was thrown from a nearby deck while on fire, according to a news release from the Fire & Rescue Department. The damage to the deck is estimated at $200.
