On Feb. 9, Fairfax County Police arrested a woman for slashing tires on Placid Lake Court in Chantilly. Dawn Stanley, 51, who lived along the same street, was arrested and charged on five misdemeanor counts of destruction of property. Police said that additional charges are pending.
A major arrest was also made last week. Salvador Portillo-Saravia, 29, of Sterling, in Houston, Texas. Portillo-Saravia allegedly raped an 8-year-old Centreville girl on Dec. 26, police said, and is being extradited to Fairfax County.
Some of the larcenies this week include: several purses and wallets taken from vehicles, license plates taken off cars, wine and tequila stolen from businesss.
