Early Campaigning for Centreville Man in Senate Run

Shak Hill of Centreville is running for the Senate seat currently held by Mark Warner.

A Centreville resident is among the Republican contenders for Mark Warner's Senate seat.

Shak Hill, a financial planner who has fostered 46 children with his wife Robin, hit the campaign trail at the Arlington Republican Committee's annual picnic recently. The GOP will nominate a candidate at a convention in the spring.

“Our government is upside down,” Hill said at the picnic, according to the Sun Gazette. “Our leadership is not taking Virginia where we need to go. The perception of Mark Warner is not the reality. Mark Warner is not doing what we need him to do.”

Any campaign against Warner is probably something of a long shot—he won 65 percent of the vote in 2008
