Sully Supervisor, School Board Rep to Hold Town Hall on Budget

Sully District Supervisor Michael Frey and School Board representative Kathy Smith will hold a town hall on March 22 to discuss the Fairfax County FY 2013 budget.

The town hall is an opportunity for taxpayers to ask about the county budget, which the Board of Supervisors will approve in April. A representative from the Fairfax County Management and Budget staff will also be on hand.

The Fairfax County School Board voted in February to . Their plan asks the BOS to approve an increase of $202.3 million from the last fiscal year, an increase of 8.4 percent. Griffin's plan provides a 4.5 percent increase. Over half of the county's expenditures go to FCPS.

The town hall will take place on March 22, at 7 p.m. at Rocky Run Middle School, 4400 Stringfellow Rd., Chantilly. Public hearings before the BOS will begin next month.
